Increased Fines for Violation of Hazardous Materials Transportation Laws
A Final Rule posted to the Federal Register on 12/30/2024 increased the fines for DOT and FAA violations, including Hazardous Materials transportation laws, again in 2025.
The long list of legal citations and penalties can be found here.
Remember that findings during FAA and DOT audits can result in a multitude of violations and
some penalties can be compounded by the frequency or number of times the violation occurred.
Even a small error can result in substantial penalties calculated per day and per violation!
The most economical way to combat these issues is a review of 49 and 14 CFR compliance that
finds and corrects issues preemptively. Investing a few thousand dollars for a third party to
review your operations, even for just 1 day, can potentially save your organization hundreds of
thousands of dollars in penalties, legal fees, and disruption to business operations.
